The Equestrian Team’s coach, Missy Jo Hollingsworth has just received the “Coach of the Year” award from the University of Cincinnati! The award was earned by Missy Jo out of all Club Sport and Student Groups at the University! Three different team members wrote in wonderful recommendation letters and the team’s President was asked to read the following excerpt from the letters during the award ceremony, “Missy Jo goes above and beyond the expectations of a coach to help team members grow. She covers all aspects of life when she encourages us. Her goal is for our members to become “riders not passengers” and she has certainly done this with many and will only continue to do so.” Missy Jo loves the team and works very hard and certainly deserves ”Coach of the Year” at UC. Congratulations and thank you coach!

This event is for current high school students who are interested in attending UC and who are thinking about riding in college. Please visit our Test Ride page for more information about this exciting event! Feel free to email our President, Brianna Spence, with and questions you may have. Congratulations! Many of our team members qualified for our Regional show and did very well! We had one rider move on to Western Semi Finals in the Open Reining division! She preformed wonderfully and was very excited to ride an advanced reining horse. Two of our riders moved on to Hunt Seat Zones. One completed a beautiful course, earning herself 3rd place and the other did a wonderful job on the flat and won first place in her division! She will be heading to North Carolina the first week of May to compete in IHSA Nationals. UCET is very proud of all of it’s riders and can’t wait for an even more successful season to start in the Fall. Thank you to everyone’s hard work and dedication! Giving BackCongratulations team! We helped raise enough money to feed three local families through out the holiday season! Our team plans to start giving back to the community much more than what we have done in the past and this was a great way to begin! Thank you for all that helped, three local families really appreciate it and will have hot, hand delivered meals because of UCET. Internship possibilitiesThe President of UCET attended an internship luncheon at the Maker’s Mark Secretariat Center in the Kentucky Horse Park. Here she learned what a wonderful program the facility had to help off the track thoroughbreds, with a faith of slaughter, become wonderful pets or competition horses. In addition to learning about the program, she was able to learn about internship possibilities for riders on UCET. Youth Equestrian World GamesThe University of Cincinnati Equestrian Team participated in the All American Quarter Horse Youth Equestrian World Games! We held a both with team and recruitment information during the show. Our coach, Missy Jo Hollingsworth, took many of her youth clients to the show and placed! |
